Standard Child Care First Aid with CPR Level B is a comprehensive Canadian Red Cross first aid and CPR course for people who care for children and babies. It covers lifesaving first aid, CPR and AED, choking response, wound care, and the prevention and management of common childhood injuries and illnesses.
The course is commonly required for early childhood educators, day home operators, licensed daycare and child care centre staff, and others who are responsible for children. It meets provincial and territorial early childhood education and child care worker safety and legislative requirements.

Full Certification
Full certification is a minimum of 16 hours of in-class teaching time. Teaching time does not include breaks.
Recertification
Recertification is 8 hours of in-class teaching time and is available to students who hold an eligible current certification. Students registering for recertification are responsible for confirming that their current certificate is eligible under Canadian Red Cross recertification rules.

Students registering for a recertification option must hold an eligible current certification according to Canadian Red Cross recertification rules. Certification
Successful students receive a digital Canadian Red Cross certificate in Standard Child Care First Aid with CPR Level B.
Certification length: 3 years.
To receive certification, students must attend and participate in 100% of the course, successfully demonstrate the required skills and critical steps, achieve a minimum mark of 75% on the written, closed-book knowledge evaluation completed independently, and adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross.
