You will receive: Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder
Valid: 3-year EMR certification (CPR/BLS component 1 year)
Prerequisites: Intermediate First Aid (formerly Standard First Aid) with CPR-C, current at the time the course starts. Some employers and PCP schools set additional admission requirements, confirm yours.

Before you register

This is a Canadian Red Cross EMR course, a nationally recognized certification. It is NOT an Alberta College of Paramedics–approved EMR program, and does not by itself make you eligible for College registration or a practice permit in Alberta. It is widely used for employment in industrial and remote-site settings (acceptance depends on your employer and province), it may meet selected PCP-school admission requirements, and it can be a starting point for other provinces' EMR licensing, see the BC (EMALB) section on this page. Verify your exact school, employer, or licensing body before registering.

Nobody appears identifiably without being asked in person first, and you can stay out of frame entirely, just tell your instructor. Details are in the policies above.
