100% attendance and successful demonstration of airway assessment, device selection, insertion technique, and ventilation support.
Course Content
Airway anatomy and physiology for responders
Airway assessment and recognition of obstruction or compromise
Manual airway maneuvers and positioning
Oropharyngeal airway (OPA): sizing, insertion, indications, contraindications
Nasopharyngeal airway (NPA): sizing, insertion, indications, contraindications
Suction setup and technique for airway clearance
Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) assembly and operation
One and two-rescuer BVM techniques with emphasis on seal and tidal volume
Integration with oxygen therapy and AED response
Common airway errors and troubleshooting under stress

Skills sheets, airway sizing guides, and device quick-reference materials.
Certification
Canadian Red Cross Airway Management
When taken with BLS, O2 may be listed on the combined credential depending on bundle configuration.
When integrated with a responder course, appears on the associated certificate as applicable.
Approximate Course Length
1-2 hours skills lab (single session).

Traditional, instructor-led skills workshop. Pre-reads supplied.
